Photo Paper
What it's great for: photo birth announcements, holiday cards, photo cards
Photo paper looks best when used with photo birth announcements or any other type of invitation or card that uses personal photos. Because it's printed on photo paper, the colors on the photos will look more vibrant due to the paper's ink absorbency. I prefer to use matte photo paper as opposed to glossy photo paper because the card won't end up looking like a printed picture, and it will have a similar look as cardstock. Matte photo paper makes it easier for the text to be readable.
Cardstock Paper
What it's great for: digital printing, all types of invitations, announcements, photo birth announcements, photo cards, holiday cards
Cardstock paper is best used for invitations or cards when no personal photos are being used. The paper is thick and durable, and the colors will still show up vibrant. Using cardstock for invitations makes them look and feel luxurious and professional while making it easy for layering with colored cardstock.
